BITING POLICY

Biting two or more times in one day – child will be sent home from the center for the rest of the day.

Biting four or more times in one week – child will be sent home for the rest of the week.

Continued biting will be evaluated on a case by case basis for dis-enrollment of the biting child.

We regret that any biting occurs at all.  However, we recognize that it is a normal developmental activity that some children exhibit.  We need to strike a balance between teaching the biters more appropriate behavior and keeping the non-biting children safe.  It is our sincere hope that we can lessen the occurrence of biting through use of this policy.
